The Team: The Silver Surfers
Assia
XI
Silverstein
Going by the operation name Silver Surfers, this contingent of The Damned will be the first Chrono Chamber partner mission for new member Hex. The mission began relative to the local Earth calendar on Oct. 1st during our last stop on Aurras. Aurras is dangerously close to civil war. As the planet consists of a singular monolithic city called Globopolis, such an eventuality would inevitably be a global war.
The Silver Surfers have joined Anarrian Circle, the dominant anarchist power on Aurras. An underdog with a history of mythic proportions, the Anarrians have been championing the ideals of mutual aid and radical freedom against the backdrop of an immovable empire that calls itself The Visible Hand. It is often called, simply, The Hand.
The Hand has been in power so long that its origins supercede even mythic tales of origin. Our analysis indicates a likelihood of hyper-post-capitalist evolution vectors following the expected Xace trajectories. It can be surmised that their earlier history followed the stages of

Exaltation and Entrenchment of Monopolies
The Long Hard Rule
Aurran government is a form of theocratic libertarianism. Globopolis is comprised of a number of city-state like sectors that determine local affairs. However, a deeply entrenched ideology of the glory of wealth and power coordinates local action in service of global interests. The everyday person will readily stab their neighbour in the back if it means someone makes more money. Secret networks that have come to be known as the invisible hand ensure that the global coordination of power is not impeded. The groups that comprise the invisible hand have a notably religious character, with membership guarded by intense hazing and ritual initiations. Initiates are known to use psychedelic substances to “commune” with ‘the market”.

Mission Briefing
The Triggerpoint
The Anarrians established a Temporary Autonomous Zone (TAZ) 50 years ago. A scientist within the zone developed an engine that would nearly eliminate the difficulties of interstellar trade. This threatened the monopoly on materials held by One Light Industries (OLI), the monocorp that rules the planet. A plot by members of the invisible hand involving the CEO of OLI was revealed after a botched assassination attempt on the scientist. Riots ensued within days.
